- The Northwest School of Wooden Boat Building- applications are open for 2026: Since 1981, the School has trained more than 1,600 students in wooden boatbuilding and marine systems. Their full-time programs include a 12-month Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degree in Boatbuilding, a 9-month Diploma program in Marine Systems, and 5-day Intensive courses in Marine Systems. - Norm Manly Maritime Education Scholarship; applications due March 30, 2026. This program is designed to serve youth in Washington State pursuing post-high school education or training for a maritime career path. Scholarships amounts range from $1,500 on up to the $5,000 first-prize. Funds may be used for maritime programs at community colleges, technical and vocational schools, colleges, universities, maritime academies, or other accredited educational institutions.
